SupportIn past years, the project received a grant from the Chancellor of University of Massachusetts Lowell, William Hogan, to cover a portion of our costs. Different departments in the University also help to fund particular items. Former Professor David Smith of UML left funds to send American students to experience another culture and way of life. The rest of the money we raise from private donations and foundation funds. The Chelmsford Rotary Club has entered into a partnership with PerUML to help us raise funds, and we received a grant from Rotary International for 2001-2003. The Dracut Rotary has helped also. Three parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston have helped in supporting PerUML by hosting fund-raisers or taking up collections. We are particularly grateful to Saint Mary's in Winchester, Saint John's in Wellesley, and Saint Jerome's in North Weymouth. The Episcopal Church has also helped. ASE Americas, Inc., has donated 24 50W photovoltaic modules to the project, and Evergreen Solar 12 50W panels. Thanks to Schneider Electric for the generous donation of Square D load centers and circuit breakers in 2003. Several alumni of our trips have made personal donations to help other students participate. We are grateful for a small grant from the Lindbergh Foundation for 2001-03 and one from New England Biolabs Foundation for 2004. Thanks to all our sponsors! |
